Spirit Week 2024 is right around the corner with many fun events happening at our school.

Powder Puff 

Make sure to attend this year’s powder puff game on September 25th. The girls from the Junior and Senior classes play against each other in a flag football game. Wear blue if you are cheering for Juniors and pink if you are cheering for Seniors. Many seniors describe their junior year playing Powder Puff as a great opportunity to be closer to their class. Although last year the seniors won, the Juniors showed great talent. Now that these girls are Seniors, they are looking for a win.

Spirit Week

Spirit Week includes interactive games and a week full of daily themes. Starting September 23 until the 27, accessorize yourself to match the theme: Monday is USA, Tuesday is PJ Party, Wednesday is Wild West, Thursday is Wear your Class Color, and Friday is Purple and Gold. Although many people are excited to dress up for spirit week, outfits must follow the student handbook and dress code. While you’re wearing Palisades colors, you can participate in dodgeball during the second period. After last year’s Pep Rally got rained out, some teachers introduced dodgeball to the students. Dodgeball was interactive between teachers and students, so dodgeball is coming back this year. You can join in the dodgeball game by signing up in the main office.

Homecoming Game

The boys will face Blue Mountain in the Homecoming Game on September 27th. Some Pirate football players have described this upcoming game as “tough and competitive”. Pack the student section to show your support while dressing in purple and gold. The student section is a fun way to support the team, dress up together, and be with your friends all at the same time. During the half-time, we will find out the results of Homecoming voting when the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned.

Homecoming Dance

To wrap up the fun week, the Homecoming dance will be on September 28th. From 6-9pm, all grades can experience a night full of dancing and socializing with friends. The theme of Homecoming 2024 is disco. Many girls have stated that they are dressing in sparkly outfits for the theme. Homecoming is being hosted in the cafeteria. Due to the tight space, many people say that it tends to get hot. Although it gets humid, it is a great way to be in school for other ways than education. Not only is Homecoming a way all grades can have fun together, but it opens opportunities to be more social. Both girls and boys enjoy Homecoming because it is a way to express yourself through dress. 

By participating in these activities, you are showing your school spirit and supporting your football team. Huge thanks to our Student Government representatives who coordinated all themes, events, and activities for our school!
