Importance of animal rescue shelters

Any animal shelter is a significant part of a community, town, and city. They care for the animals and save them from abuse, from being abandoned, and from any life threatening situation caused by humans or in the wild. Animal Adventures, Bolton Massachusetts, Last Chance Ranch, Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and Royce’s Rescue, Richboro, Pennsylvania, are all great examples of animal shelters that don’t just rescue dogs and cats but also other unique types of animals.

Last Chance Ranch

In Quakertown, Pennsylvania at Last Chance Ranch, they take care of multiple types of animals from, dogs, cats, horses, farm animals, birds, reptiles, and reptiles. At Last Chance Ranch they give homes to the animals that are abandoned, abused, and neglected animals another chance at being adopted and taken home. They provide hands on education and have community programs that allow anyone to make a difference on the animals lives.

Royce’s Rescue

At Royce’s Rescue, they take care of horses, dogs, and cats that have been neglected. Royce’s Rescue is full of animal lovers and professionals that provide the best care that they can give to the animals. In 2025, they were able to provide warm and safe homes for many kittens and cats that were cold, starving, and sick. Also in 2025, they found multiple new homes for horses off the race track after their careers ended.

Animal Adventure

Up in Bolton, Massachusetts, there is an animal rescue shelter called Animal Adventure that takes animals that have minor injuries. They care for more than 100 different species of animals and between 200 and 400 animals. Each animal has its own background and enclosure. Animal Adventure was founded in 1997 by Ed and Brenda Laquidara. Ed has worked with and taken care of exotic animals for years and has been listed as one of the world’s top 20 herpetologists.

So this summer, when you are bored at home, go out and do some good. Volunteer at a local animal shelter. Not only are you helping animals, but it will make you feel good to know that you have helped care for animals in need.
