Ms. Casale is a new teacher at Palisades High School. However she is not only a teacher though, she is a supporter of her students with her very bubbly and vibrant personality that a lot of people look for. I interviewed Ms. Casale to find out more about her, her career, and her advice to future educators.

Ms. Casale is a family-oriented person and spends most of her time with her family. She has an identical twin sister and a younger brother. She also explained that her mom is “one of my biggest inspirations for everything and biggest supporters.”  Ms. Casale is also a very avid pet lover. She owns multiple chickens, ducks, and dogs which she also spends a bit of her free time with.  In addition to that, she loves to collect enamel pins; she has a giant collection of them and even showed me one of a little green dinosaur with a purple hat.

Ms. Casale became a teacher because of the influence of her own math teacher. In middle school, she had a teacher named Mrs. Williams who made learning so much fun. Ms. Casale reflects on the lessons from Mrs. Williams and still uses some of the lessons to teach her own students. In choosing what to teach, Ms. Casale explained that she has always had a passion for math. Even in high school, she was always the student that a teacher would ask to help explain material to other students who were struggling. A few members of her family were also math teachers so it just made sense when she told her family she wanted to be a math teacher. Ms. Casale went to the University of Massachusetts as well as Arcadia. She is now in her third year of teaching. She has taught at Central Bucks from 2021 – 2022. Now at Palisades, Ms. Casale said that she loves being here and that it’s like a “small community”. She explained that the math department is small but everyone has been very welcoming to her.

Advice that Ms. Casale gives to students who would like to become teachers is to “Just be understanding” and “Put yourself in students’ shoes.” She explained that student’s mental health is important and should always be a priority in teaching.
