Spirit Week 2023

With Spirit Week now behind us, the school is still buzzing with exhilaration that ran through every hallway and classroom.

Since there was no school Monday, Spirit Week started off strong with USA day on Friday the 22nd. Tuesday was 70s day, Wednesday was Soccer Moms vs Barbecue Dad day, Thursday was class colors: seniors were red, juniors were blue, sophomores were green, and freshmen were orange. The last day of spirit week’s theme was purple and gold. The most notable and fun day was Soccer Moms vs. Barbecue Dads with outfits accessorized with high hair buns, pillows stuffed shirts, and aprons.

Spirit week is always filled with fun activities, starting out the week’s activities with a scavenger hunt during 2nd period, which went on all week. The winner of the scavenger hunt got five points towards their grade. On the last day of Spirit Week during 2nd period, there was supposed to be a soccer game outside but it got rained out, so Student Government and administration quickly came up with a dodgeball game. Feedback throughout the school was unanimous that dodgeball was a fun and engaging way to end the week. After the class competitions, the seniors played the faculty. The seniors beat the faculty to win the dodgeball tournament. Then during fourth period, the pep rally started. There were games, band music, sports teams being highlighted, and the cheerleaders giving an amazing performance. To end the many lively activities, the most spirited was announced, senior Bri Hunter and the grade winner for the week was announced as seniors.

Although Spirit Week came to a close, it led up to the Homecoming football game with Palisades winning 55-6. Then, Saturday was the homecoming dance, which was luau themed, with over 300 students in attendance.

Spirit Week 2023 was so fun and creative. Student government did an amazing job carefully planning and creating the themes; they never fail making this week perfect for the whole school.
